One of the newest additions to the tech wearables market is the Go2Sleep ring that monitors key bodily functions to help you track your sleep quality and even identity sleep abnormalities such as sleep apnea.

This small device is worn on your finger like a ring and connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth to measure and record key sleep quality indicators including

  • Heart Rate
  • Blood Oxygen Levels
  • Sleep Stages
  • Perfusion Index (pulse strength),

Go2Sleep also gives you additional insight on how issues like sleep apnea, snoring and day to day activities are affecting your sleep.

Sleep apnea is a sleep issue that can have severe effects on your health. Sleep apnea disorder is when your breathing repeatedly stops and starts throughout the night. There is often a choking or snorting sound as the breathing resumes. Sleep apneas are frequent if you are a loud snorer and you feel exhausted even after you get a full night’s rest. The reason this sleep disorder is a problem is that it disrupts your normal sleep causing your body not to get the rest and much-needed recovery. If sleep apnea is left untreated, it can put you at risk for numerous health issues including:

  • high blood pressure

  • stroke

Even though sleep apnea effects as many as XXXX million Americans, many people will remain undiagnosed. Sleep apnea in children can lead to issues in school performance or hyperactivity. Many fitness wearables have been making st4eps towards tracking sleep quality. Go2Sleep is a device that is focused primarily in this area of measuring, analyzing, and understanding sleep quality and evaluating obstruct sleep apnea.

Goal: The ultimate goal of the SleepOn device is to track key sleep quality metrics to help you identity through its Sleep report sleep apnea and measure the severity of the disorder. It is still suggested that you visit your doctor for a confirmation of the diagnosis.

Design

Material: Go2Sleep is light (weighs only 6oz), small in size, and the band is made from food grade silicone. All these design features make the device so comfortable to wear that you probably won’t notice it in your sleep.

Ring vs. Wrist Band: The majority of fitness wearables that include features such as sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring are in the form of wrist bands. Since this device is in ring form, it is said that ring based tracking decides can provide significantly more accurate data. One reason is that there are many capillaries in your fingers.

Sizing: Three different band sizes come with the device to help you pick the size that is most comfortable for your figure.

Battery: The battery can last for up to three days without charging. Since you only need to wear the ring while sleeping, you can use it for about 3 nights. Its convent to keep the charging dock on your nightstand to help you remember to keep it charged and put it on at night.

Charging: The charging base is a magnetic charging dock. Just place the ring on the dock, and it will snap in place and charge the device. The device takes 2 hours to charge from empty fully.

SleepOn App

Go2Sleep connect wirelessly to the SleepOn App. In the app, you can view your sleep data including your heart rate, sleep stages, AHI, sleep debt, and body movements.Another cool feature is that you can log any activities you did during the day. This can help you see how your daily habits and activities might be affecting your sleep quality.Vibrates: You can customize the setting in the app to give you real-time notifications if certain events happen in your sleep. For example, if your blood oxygen levels drop due to your sleeping position or snoring, the app can trigger the device to vibrate slightly. The vibration aims to be subtle enough not to wake you fully but to increase the chances of you subconsciously switching positions and reducing the chances of sleep apnea.

SleepOn Reporting

From the data the Go2Sleep device collects throughout the night, the app will generate a personalized sleep report. In this report, it will compare your daily, weekly, and monthly sleep data. With this data, it will also give you helpful tips and recommendations that can improve your sleep quality.

Add Family Members: You can get multiple Go2Sleep devices soft your family members and connect the devices to the SleepOn account. This will allow you to track critical data and share with your loved one.Go2Sleep offers lifetime free sleep quality reporting.

Pros

Risk Warning: Using this sleep monitor will analyze your data and give you a risk assessment of sleep apnea. This includes early warnings of abnormal sleep quality and low blood oxygen levels.

Cons

Not FDA Approved: The Go2Sleep device is not FDA approved to be used as a diagnostic test for sleep apnea formally. You should still consult your doctors to reach a definitive diagnosis. However, Go2Sleep is a good starting point to identify if any sleep abnormalities are affecting your quality of sleep and are the reason for your fatigue.

Sleep Apnea Type: Since the device does not measure airflow or respirate rate directly, it will not be able to tell the difference between Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Central Sleep Apnea (CSA).Regardless, this device is a great first step in identifying if you might suffer from sleep apnea and it makes it easy to bring reports from the Sleepon App to your doctor for a definite diagnosis.

I thought I would check-in and give you an update on the Go2Sleep ring since I have been using it for a little over 6 months now! So far this is my favorite device for monitoring my sleep quality, duration, etc.

I find it super conformable to wear at night and the app syncs very quickly with the ring. The app dashboard is very nicely presented visually. All the information is easy to understand at a glance.
