Review Summary

übertherm Cooling Gel Wraps

Cold compression wraps are often recommended to treat injuries.

If you have ever suffered from an injury, you have probably learned first hand how difficult it is to find an “ice pack” that isn’t uncomfortably cold and actually stays cold long enough.

Before you reach for the bag of peas in the back of your freezer, did you know that too cold of temperatures could actually make injuries worse and the recovery slower? (freezing tissue causes little ice crystals inside of your cells that can injure you again)

The wrong ice pack can make your injury worse!!

Conventional ice packs have often caused people to suffer from ice burns due to too cold of a temperatures. This, in turn, ends up causing the inflammation to worsen.

Freezing also makes your tendons and muscles more prone to re-injury. Even a short ice burn can trigger inflammation or make existing inflammation worse.

The solution is to find the right cold wrap that will cool the affected area at the correct temperature, not freeze it.

In this Cold Compression Wrap review, I will walk you through everything you need to know about übertherm’s cold compression therapy wraps, my own experience, the technology behind the product, and how it compares to other cold wraps. My goal is to help you make an informed decision so you can get the highest quality product for the best price!

What are übertherm’s Cold Compression Wraps?

The common struggle of finding an ice pack that is comfortable, the right temperature, and stays a constant temperature was the motivation behind the ubertherm company. The company was founded in 2016 and started as a small family company from Rockville Maryland who designs and manufactures cold therapy wraps which treat pain and inflammation.

What makes this cold compression therapy wraps better than the rest is that these wraps are designed with a new technology that limits thermal conduction and gives you a gradual, sting-free cooling without the risk of tissue freezing, ice burns, and pain which prolong healing.

“We came up with what we call übertherm’s Ice Pillow, a material which conducts and insulates in a way that keeps your body safe and comfortable while wearing it. That and a gel pack which could hold the cold temperature for extra-long were what started everything for us. We’ve received hundreds of emails and calls from people saying it’s helped them to feel better, so we’re pretty proud of the result!”

The cold temperature is ideal for relief from pain and inflammation. It doesn’t not sting, and you won’t get ice burns. It’s just a steady cold that is really soothing.

Premium Material: The wrap is made from premium-grade UBL Neoprene. It has 100% velcro loop coverage. This allows you to customize your fit and the unlimited sizing makes it perfect for both men and women. It's a "one-size-fits-all" product.

Secure: The high-grade recessed velcro allows you to adjust the wrap comfortably and securely. The velcro is very strong and gives you a secure fit. You can change the compression to your liking.

Long Lasting: The cooling gel pack is non-toxic. This high-performance gel stays semi-flexible when it's frozen. It makes it easy to insert into the wrap selves. The gel pack can provide up to 50 minutes of constant soothing cold.

My Experience:

I’ve been through my share of strains and sprains over the years, both sports related and non-sports related. The worst part has always been dealing with ice packs and icing the area.I’ve made the mistake of icing injuries that resulted in ice burns because it was too cold. It’s always a struggle balancing the padding to the ice is not too cold on my skin and trying to secure a gel pack, so it puts a comfortable amount of pressure on my injury.I love that this is a family owned company, they show they care about all their customers and will help you in any way they can. The company was founded on the premises of assisting people in recovering from injury and sooth joint pain.I wish that I had heard of them sooner, it would have really helped with my wrist injury last summer! I still have wrist pain, and while they do not have a cooling gel wrap explicitly designed for the wrist/hand, I have been using the elbow wrap to sooth the pain.

sophie using ubertherm wrap for wrist

After freezing the gel pack, I secure the wrap around my hand, and the velcro has been excellent at allowing me to adjust the tightness. I have the wrap on for 25 minutes, and I was blown away at how much it helped!I love that the inside material is super soft and the stretchy velcro allowed me to adjust the pressure and hold making the whole experience very comfortable.I highly recommend this to anyone suffering from joint pain or recovering from an injury. This product will make the recovery process so much smoother! The wraps can offer fast relief for arthritis, ACL, meniscus, and post-op knee surgery pain.
