Ladies, lets face it. We are easy targets and we have something nearly all men want. I'm generally an extremely positive person - and I'll get to positives later! However what's the point on taking care of our health and fitness if we can't protect ourselves?

There are a lot of great people out in the world, unfortunately the few bad apples make it necessary to take precautions. As Teddy Roosevelt said "walk softly, but carry a big stick". What he meant was be nice, but be able to defend yourself.

NOTE: Learn the 7 Most Important Self Defense Techniques for Women

However most self defense classes are extremely time consuming and aren't available most places. This can lead to inconsistencies and false information. Additionally, most self defense classes are tailored to men.

Self Defense Training for Women

Most women really don't need a full fledged martial arts or self defense class. However what I highly recommend is that all women know the basics of how to defend themselves and how to take down an opponent.

Yes! Men are bigger and stronger (generally) however the interesting thing with self defense is it really is knowledge over power. Big bulky guys are usually easier to beat than smaller faster guys.

You definitely need to learn how to disable a potential attacker and how to defend yourself from harm. This is also important for anyone who you are about! What if some freak is trying to hurt your daughter? You don't want to just call the police and wait, you need to be able to have the skills to be able to stop bad things from happening.

What Is a good First Step?

You definitly don't want to just jump into some extreme Taekwondo or Karate right away! I would recommend you find a good resource and learn some basic self defense and move upward as necessary.

Of course I have already done your homework for you! What I am in love with is something called the 7 Most Effective Self Defense Techniques. What I really like about it is it's designed for beginners. People of all walks of life, and men and women can both benefit from it.

Some highlights are:

  • Learn how to stop any attacker regardless of their gender or size - instantly
  • Learn how to use your body as a weapon
  • Turn the tables on those who seek to harm you
  • Gain confidence and security
  • Protect those closest to you

Is This Legit Training?

I know how you may be feeling, i've felt that way too. What I found was that the instructor who put out this quick reference is Terry Lyon, he is a 5th degree black belt in Goju-Ryu Karate. Goju-Ryu Karate is one of the oldest and strongest of all the karate style martial arts. It's known for it's effective and deadly force at close range.

Terry Lyon is definitely someone who has real results and no someone I'd ever want to mess with in real life! Terry is the Highest ranking instructor for Goju-Ryu Karate in Australia.

Terry Lyon also has over 30 years of continous training and use in self defense and martial arts.

What Does All This Boil Down To?

Terry Lyon has summed up his vast knowledge of self defense in a short reference book that's easy for brand new people to open up and learn some simple - yet powerful defense moves.

This isn't going to make you a ninja fighter or anything, but it's a very nice place to start to learn some fundamentals and defend yourself from run of the mill bad guys.

I think this is very important because I live in a Big 10 university college town. The number of rapes alone here is sickening, my mother works for the hospital on campus and the stories I hear are frightening. Whats worse is a vast majority of these cases are never reported. But they happen every single night!

UPDATE!: The 7 Most Powerful Self Defense Techniques is on sale from $50.00 to $19.97 but only for a short time!
