Vacations are exciting and planning for your break away from reality is thrilling. While we can't wait to go on vacation and soak up the sun you might find yourself wishing you could look better and possibly drop a few pounds. The sooner you start these fitness tips, the better. I recommend giving yourself at least a good six weeks to get in shape but regardless of the amount of time you have before you leave, it's never too late to get in shape!
Getting ready to for vacation weight loss
I like to begin any weight loss efforts by motivating myself first. This means having a constant reminder of my upcoming plans by putting up a photo of my vacation destination on the fridge. This way I will think twice before opening it and reaching for a late night snack. The two main components to your weight loss success is the amount and quality of exercise you are getting and your eating habits.
Working Out to Lose weight
Next, you might want to join a gym! Or start an at-home exercise program. You'll want to find a quality program that not only burns calories but also tones the body like the famous Bikini Body Guide program. You should get some sort of physical activities every day. Some people like to workout first thing in the morning and others prefer it after work. Find out which time of the day works best with your schedule. Also, you'll need to find out what kind of exercise you like. Any workout is better than no workout so even on those days you're feeling a little lazy, talk a short walk around the neighborhood!
Eating for effective vacation weight loss
Exercise is only half the battle. Make sure your eating habits match your goals. I recommend cleaning your cabinets of foods high in sugar and artificial ingredients and most highly processed foods. After you clean the cabinets go to the grocery store and stock up on real food like raw veggies and fruits, chicken, fish and other lean protein, whole-grain pasta and other light and nutrient-rich foods you can easily prepare. Before you start any mindless eating estimate the amount of calories you need. This is determined by your weight, height, age, gender, and level of physical activity throughout the day. There are many online calculators that will allow you to do this. It's better to eat smaller meals more often than three huge meals a day. This will help to keep you from overeating. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day so start the day off right by eating a nutritional meal. The best kind of meals should be nutrient right and do not include artificial ingredients. If you keep this simple principle in mind while making eating decisions, you'll be on the right track to lose weight and get in shape for your vacation.
