Many people are interested in CBD because they heard of all the potential benefits of CBD.

Some people are interested in CBD because they heard CBD could be used to help relieve anxiety. (This is why I initially developed an interest in CBD.) Other people might be interested in using CBD products for physical pain, such as muscle soreness for athletes or joint pain for arthritis.

The best way for you to take CBD depends on your goals, habits, and lifestyle.

There is no “best way” for everyone.

Finding the best way for YOU to take CBD might require some trial and error.

If you have already started looking for CBD products, things might seem a little overwhelming with the number of products and brands to choose from.

The very first step is to find a trustworthy brand that produces high-quality CBD products. The most transparent and honest brand are those who go through third-party testing and provide you with the results.

I personally use and recommend R+R Medicinals.

You are more than welcome to do your own research on other brands as well. Just be sure to not fall for misleading information from marketing tactics!

Once you find a brand you trust, chances are they offer a wide variety of CBD products. From here, you can find the product and delivery method that suits your tastes.

Use a dropper and hold CBD Oil under your tongue

One of the most popular ways to take CBD is by using CBD Oil, commonly also called CBD tinctures.

What are CBD Tinctures?

Glad you asked. This was a question I had too. CBD tinctures are CBD Oils that come in a little glass bottle with a dropper attached to the screw-on cap.

The dropper allows users to measure the exact amount of CBD oil they wish to ingest.

CBD Tinctures come in a wide variety of flavors and strengths.

How do you use CBD tinctures?

Tinctures are easy to use, even for beginners.

  1. Use the dropper attached to the cap to measure out the amount of CBD oil you wish to take.
  2. Dispense the liquid from the dropper under your tongue.
  3. It is generally recommended to hold the liquid under your young for about 60 to 90 seconds to allow the oil to absorb into your bloodstream.

A few important things to note if this is your first time using a CBD tincture:

  • This method of taking CBD is fast-acting and effective.
  • The taste is not for everyone. It can be healthy and bitter.
  • It might be a good idea to try flavored CBD tinctures if you are using this method.
  • If you end up not liking this mention, the CBD tincture doesn't have to go to waste, use it in drinks or food (more details below)

Oil itself can be confusing for first-time users. When looking for CBD Oil, you will come across 3 main types of CBD Oil:

  • Full Spectrum CBD: Oil extracted from the whole hemp plant, including up to 0.3% of THC.
  • Broad Spectrum CBD: This is an oil that starts out as Full Spectrum but goes through additional a process to remove the trace amounts of THC. It offers the same effect as full-spectrum CBD but without any THC ingested into the body
  • CBD Isolate: This is pure CBD. It has none of the other natural compounds found in the hep plant.

Here is a great visual to explain the differences in CBD Oil types:

CBD can also be ingested via a CBD capsule (sometimes called Softgel).

Capsules are another popular option for taking CBD.

Taking a CBD capsule is as easy as taking a vitamin pill or any other medication.

Speaking of medication, always talk to your doctor before adding CBD supplements to your wellness routine.

This is especially important if you are on any medication.

There are a few advantages of CBD capsules.

The most significant advantage is that they are easy to take, and you don’t have to measure out the correct dosage as you would with a dropper.

CBD capsule or softballs are also great for on-the-go people. They are easy to carry in a purse or backpack, and you don’t have to worry bout breaking the bottle or spilling liquid.

A few important things to note about taking CBD in capsule form:

They are not fast-acting like CBD tinctures.

Instead, they realize slowly over a more extended period.

Eat CBD Edibles

When I was first starting looking into taking CBD, I was immediately attracted to the idea of CBD edibles, for obvious reasons, after seeing CBD gummies.

If you are unfamiliar, CBD gummies are basically like a gummy bear infused with CBD oil that tastes delicious.

Taking CBD gummies is pretty straight forward:
You put one in your mouth, chew it, and swallow.

If you are trying CBD gummies for the first time, you might even consider only eating half of the gummy.

Sour gummy worms were my jam as a kid. And if they didn’t have sugar and other not-so-nutritious ingredients, I’d eat them every day!

I’m not the only one that feels this way - CBD gummies are dominating the CBD edible market!

A few reasons CBD gummy edibles are a preferred choice include:

  • They are delicious (who doesn’t like gummy candy?)
  • You don’t have to measure out the right dose each time as you do with CBD tinctures.
  • Easy to eat

Like CBD capsules, it will take your body longer to absorb the CBD using this method.

Since the CBD goes through your digestive tract, it will be released into your system over a more extended period.

Mix CBD Oil in your favorite drink (or food)

You don’t need to buy CBD edible, you can make your own at home using CBD Oil. If you decide to try CBD Oil but don’t like the way it tastes or having to hold the liquid under your tongue to absorb it, don’t let it go to waste!

Using CBD Oil to make edibles is easy, and there are a ton of recipes online.

I prefer the drink route. You can add CBD to drinks that require stirring or blending. Tea and coffee are popular options.

Personally, I love adding it to smoothies. If you don’t like the taste of the CBD oil you buy, smoothies are a great way to take the CBD oil while covering up the flavor.

Speaking of CBD in drinks, CBD products like CBD coffee and Protein mixes are also an option. I personally think it is easier to just add CBD oil into your drink. But I thought I should mention that as well.

Rub CBD Oil products on your skin

Topical CBD products are applied directly to the skin. CBD creams, oils, lotions, etc. are all great options to target specific areas on your body. These products are simple to use and often come with directions.

For people looking for muscle or joint pain relief, topical application if the best way to use CBD products.

The best way to take CBD differs from person to person.

What works best for one person might not necessarily be the best method for you.

Take some time to try different products.

If CBD tinctures seem a little intimidating and you’re unsure if you are going to like it, remember that you can always mix the CBD oil into your favorite drink (or food).
