What are Fitness Trackers?

Fitness trackers are wearable devices like a watch which track various things. Most take the place as a watch by telling the time and date in addition to the fitness benefits. Some track everything imaginable like the healbe gobe and some just track a specific area like heart rate monitoring or distances and some are in between.Fitness trackers have been gaining a lot of popularity recently with the technological advancements and the commonplace of smartphones which can already track any and everything. There are still a few problems with fitness trackers but pretty soon they will be nearly as common as a smart phone which will hopefully make us all healthier since we can see exactly where we are health-wise.

My Experience with Fitness Trackers

I have been interested in fitness since I was very young, in middle school my parents got me a pedometer, which at the time was amazing! Since it is the first of the fitness trackers which I know of it resembles nothing like current models, all a pedometer did was track steps and distance. Tracking distance was extremely imprecise because you had to estimate your stride which varies depending on your speed or activity. But it was cool during the time.

Many years after my first pedometer (I went through a few) I tried the fitbit. The fitbit was nice but it was lacking some features I really liked and was very uncomfortable. The fitbit was basically a glorified pedometer and this was the age of smartphone and apps and I really wanted something to track more areas of fitness.I moved then to the Applewatch, I loved it at first but again it wasn't quite what I thought a fitness tracker should be, even though it was pretty close. One thing I hated the most about it was battery life, it couldn't hold a charge for very long and you had to charge it at least once a day.
